Motorola G35: A Budget-Friendly 5G Smartphone with Solid Features

Motorola continues to strengthen its presence in the affordable smartphone segment with the Moto G35, a 5G-enabled device that brings a compelling set of features to budget-conscious consumers. Launched in India on December 10, 2024, and becoming available from December 16, 2024, the Moto G35 aims to offer a smooth user experience, capable photography, and all-day battery life without breaking the bank.


Design and Display

The Moto G35 sports a modern design, available in attractive colors like Leaf Green, Guava Red, and Midnight Black. It features a large 6.72-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) LTPS LCD display, offering vibrant visuals and smooth scrolling thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The display also boasts up to 1000 nits peak brightness for good visibility in various lighting conditions and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. With an IP52 rating, it offers a water-repellent design, providing some peace of mind against splashes and light rain.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Moto G35 is powered by the Unisoc T760 processor, built on a 6nm process. This octa-core chipset, coupled with a Mali-G57 MC4 GPU, handles everyday tasks like calling, Browse, and app usage efficiently. The phone comes with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB via a microSD card (hybrid dual SIM slot).

Out of the box, the Moto G35 runs on Android 14 with Motorola's clean My UX interface on top. Motorola has committed to providing one major OS update (to Android 15) and two years of security patches.

  • 50MP primary sensor: With an f/1.8 aperture and Quad Pixel technology, this sensor aims to capture sharp and detailed photos, even in challenging lighting conditions. It also supports 4K video recording at 30fps.

  • 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens: This sensor with an f/2.2 aperture offers a 120.2-degree field of view, perfect for capturing expansive landscapes or group shots.

For selfies and video calls, the phone is equipped with a 16MP front camera with an f/2.45 aperture.

A significant highlight of the Moto G35 is its large 5000mAh battery, which promises to deliver all-day usage. It supports 18W fast charging, and a 20W charger is included in the box.

In terms of connectivity, the Moto G35 is 5G-enabled, supporting a wide range of 5G bands for a future-proof experience. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also features stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos for an enhanced audio experience.
